Unusual Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Ink Bottle, Stamped "W. SMITH / GREENWICH / NEW YORK," circa 1840, cylindrical bottle with tapered shoulder and tall spout, the surface covered in a brownish Albany slip glaze. Impressed with scarce W. Smith maker's mark at shoulder. In-the-firing contact mark to maker's mark. A shallow 1 1/4" base chip, which occurred in the firing. Wear to edge of shoulder. Rim chips. H 6 1/2".
