Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND," Madison Woodruff and Romanzo Smith, Cortland, NY, circa 1867-1869, squat-shaped jug with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, the front decorated with a large circular flower blossom composed of a single looping slip-trailed line. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Excellent condition with some very light bubbling to cobalt and a minor spout chip.
