Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JORDAN," New York State origin, third quarter 19th century, semi-ovoid jar with tooled accents, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two tulips extending from a leafy stem, above a cobalt script "2". Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Excellent color. Some light fry to cobalt. A chip to one handle. Some scattered exfoliation to left side of jar under handle. Two chips to inner rim where a lid would rest. A few in-the-firing chips to underside at edge.
