Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JORDAN," New York State origin, circa 1840, highly-ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a brushed design of a tulip plant with long, winding stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and distinctive one-gallon capacity mark, surrounded by an impressed wreath. Crack in base of handle. A small nick on interior and exterior of spout. A small base flake.
