Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE NY," circa 1865, cylindrical jug with thick, semi-rounded spout, decorated with an delicate flowering plant design. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Essentially as-made condition with a 2 1/2" curved in-the-firing crack at base.
