Three-Gallon Canadian Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "FLACK & VAN ARSDALE / CORNWALL, ONT.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoylder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a large bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A rim chip on exterior front. A minor rim nick on exterior reverse. Two shallow chips on interior of rim. Approximately 6" spider crack from rim on reverse. Staining.
