Celadon-Glazed Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "JOHN BELL", Waynesboro, Pennsylvania origin, circa 1840-1880, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and inset rim designed to hold a lid, the surface covered in a pale grayish-green celadon glaze. Interior with speckled manganese glaze. Provenance: Recently found among the contents of a Baltimore County, MD farm. Very faint line extending across underside and onto base. Two other short, faint lines at base. A tight 3" line to midsection.Some faint surface lines, the longest measuring 3". A tiny rim nick. H 7 1/2".
