Rare Small-Sized Glazed Redware Jar, Maine origin, second quarter 19th century, finely-potted, ovoid jar with narrow mouth and semi-squared rim, the surface covered in a lead glaze featuring streaks of orange over a speckled reddish ground. Excellent color, form, and size. Provenance: Recently found in Maine. Chipping around base, including a shallow 5/8" chip. Two glaze flakes near base. Typical light wear to rim. H 6 1/2".
