Rare Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Figural Match Safe, late 19th century, large-sized figural match safe, molded in the form of a standing Christmas elf or gnome with hands grabbing a hollowed, hand-incised stump. Base with sawtoothed edge and impressed circle designs. Excellent condition with an in-the-firing contact mark to hat and a few minor nicks to sculpture. H 9 3/4".
