Unusual Glazed Redware Pot with Pea Pod Finial, second half 19th century, with coggled beading and open handles, the domed lid with finial in the form of an opening pea pod. Surface decorated with streaks of manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Glazed underside of lid impressed "4". Wear to edge of lid and rim of bowl. Some wear to finial. Light wear to handles. In-the-firing, glazed-over separation on interior of jar, a very small section of which is visible on exterior. H (including lid) 6".
