Unusual Redware Flowerpot with Applied Rose Decoration, Mid-Atlantic origin, possibly Shenandoah Valley, fourth quarter 19th century, wheel-thrown flowerpot with slightly-pinched walls, molded and applied rose-and-leaf designs to rim, ribbed strap handles, carved ribbing to base, the surface covered in a whitish slip wash. Provenance: Found in the Thurmont, MD area. Excellent overall condition with some wear to slip on handle / rim area. H (including handles) 6 1/2".
