Two Pieces of New York State Stoneware, second half 19th century, a six-gallon crock with large decoration of a pitcher bearing the date 1888; paired with a four-gallon churn with folky decoration of a very large goony bird or game, including crested head, long neck, and heavily-detailed body. Crock with significant, crudely-filled flaking, rim chips (some of which are filled), thin cracks, and two possibly-restored handles with residue on surface. Churn with significant flaking. Bird churn with significant, crudely-filled flaking throughout, a filled rim chip, wear to inner rim, and a possibly-restored handle with residue on surface.
