Two Pieces of Glazed Redware, Pennsylvania or New England origin, 19th century, a cylindrical jar with tooled banding and original lid featuring an unusual carved, faceted knob, the surface covered in a speckled reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze; paired with a miniature chamberpot with footed base and flared rim. Jar with a 1" chip to foot, other minor chips to foot, as well as some wear to banding and rim. Lid with a few chips to edges, along with some typical light wear to edge and knob. Chamberpot with broken and reglued handle, as well as some small spots of wear to rim. H (of jar including lid) 7 3/4".
