Tanware Pitcher, Western PA origin, fourth quarter 19th century, ovoid pitcher with tall flaring collar, decorated with a sweeping fuchsia vine design around the body and stripe at base, the collar decorated with dashes, flourishes, and draped brushwork. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor's wife in the 1930s or 1940s. Rim and spout chips. Otherwise excellent condition. H 7".
