Tanware Pitcher, Western PA origin, fourth quarter 19th century, ovoid pitcher with tall collar, decorated in Albany slip with a wavy fuchsia vine design across the body, straight and wavy stripes, dashes along the base of the collar, and draped brushwork at the rim. Handle decorated with Albany slip dashes. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor's wife in the 1930s and 1940s. Some small rim chips and a minor chip to molding at base of collar. H 6".
