Two Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, both of similar cylindrical form, a three-gallon example and a five-gallon example, both with a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Three-gallon with some fry to cobalt, an approximately 5" hairline from rim on front, an approximately 5" thin crack from rim on reverse, an approximately 7" hairline from rim on right side of rim on reverse, several rim chips (some filled), and light base wear. Five-gallon crock with filled flakes on front, partially-colored surface lines on front, a partially-colored 6" crack from rim on front, a tight 4 1/2" surface line on reverse, and two minor rim chips.
