Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird and Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.H. FARRAR / GEDDES, N.Y.," circa 1860, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with speckled body and solid wing, perched on a stylized looping-line ground, beside a daisy plant bearing two large blossoms. Slip-trailed "3" above bird. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, recently found in the Northeastern U.S. Very nice condition with a small spout chip, two relatively minor, in-the-firing flaws to right side, and some spots of fry to bird.
