Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Swag Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid jar with tall collar, tooled shoulder, and applied lug handles, decorated with brushed cobalt swags on the front and reverse. Additional scalloped cobalt line decoration under each handle. A chip to each handle. A few rim chips, including a 1 5/8" x 3/8" flake to rim, which appears to be partially glazed-over and in-the-firing. A 1 1/8" line in top of rim. Large, fairly faint T-shaped surface line on underside, not visible on interior. Approximately 4 1/2" spidering surface line on far right side of jar's front, which does not extend through to interior.
