Three-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Tulip Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, cylindrical crock with tooled rim and applied lug handles, decorated with three large brushed tulips on the front and reverse. Additional wavy line decoration under each handle. Includes lid decoration with brushed cobalt swags, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, possibly original to this crock. Long, wide crack on reverse of crock. An additional long crack from rim on front. A small chip to exterior of rim and a few small chips on interior of rim. Lid with chips to knob and small chips to flange on underside.
