Unusual Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Feather Decoration, Midwestern origin, circa 1880, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an unusual slip-trailed design of a three spotted feathers. Cobalt script "3" with flourish at shoulder. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. A minor 1 3/4" glazed over line at base, not visible on interior. A minor, 1 1/4" in-the-firing separation on interior of rim, not visible on exterior.
