Rare Miniature Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Inscribed "IFH," Ohio origin, second half 19th century, finely-potted, ovoid pitcher with tooled collar, rounded rim molding, and applied strap handle, decorated with an abstract, slip-trailed foliate design composed of striped and dotted applications. The initials "IFH" are applied in cobalt slip at the base of the collar. Albany-slip-glazed interior. Excellent size. Rim chip on reverse. Two tiny base nicks and a miniscule handle nick. H 2 1/2".
