Unusual Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Pitcher, possibly Western PA or Ohio origin, late 19th century, ovoid pitcher with tall collar and semi-squared rim, the surface covered in a Bristol slip glaze and decorated with stenciled foliate designs on the front and reverse. Collar, rim, and handle decorated with sponged cobalt daubs. Tight surface line on underside, continuing 2 1/2" up right side of pitcher's front, not visible on interior. Otherwise excellent condition. H 8 5/8".
