Two Pieces of New England Redware, first half 19th century, a handled jar with tooled shoulder and rim, paired with an ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, the surface covered in a lead glaze over an olive and orange-spotted ground. Handled jar includes 19th century, manganese-glazed lid, not original to the jar. Handled jar with significant cracks in underside, continuing up body of jar, exfoliation around base, and additional thin crack from rim to shoulder, two rim chips, and two minor handle chips. Other jar with 2 1/4" blackish, in-the-firing contact mark to side, 2" partially-filled rim chip, base chips, and other minor rim chips. H (of handled jar) 8 1/2".
