Rare Glazed Redware Jar with Impressed Decoration, American, possibly Tennessee, 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base and semi-rounded rim, featuring three diferent alternating compass and wheel designs around the shoulder. Surface covered in a lead glaze over a colorful greenish ground with orange spots. The two larger impressed designs on this jar bear a strong resemblance to those found on Great Road redware, produced by Christopher Haun in Greene County, TN. Bottom of jar broken out and reglued. Two cracks extending up from base to midsection. Small base chip. Some surface wear to midsection. H 7".
