Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with footed base and heavily-tooled collar, decorated with two large tulips flanking a central tulip or swag design. Collar decorated with brushed cobalt leaves. Large in-the-firing drip to front. 2 1/2" area of exfoliation at base. A poorly-filled chip to spout and rim. Tight cracks in underside, one of which extends 4" up side of pitcher. Some staining to pitcher.
