Bristol-Slip-Glazed Stoneware "DEMUTH'S SNUFF" Jar, American, early 20th century, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and slightly-flared rim, featuring the black-glazed advertising, "DEMUTH'S / CELEBRATED SNUFF. / ESTABLISHED 1770. / LANCASTER, PA". With original Bristol-slip-glazed lid. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor base chip, probably in-the-firing. H (w/ lid) 8 3/4".
