Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled banding around midsection, tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and ribbed lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt vine bearing a large fuchsia blossom. Decorated below with a large freehand "3" flanked by dashes and underscored with a stripe. A chip and two nicks to one handle. A minor chip and a few nicks to opposite handle. A thin, approximately 10" crack from rim on reverse. A 7" hairline from rim on front.
