Fine Rockingham-Glazed Spaniel on Base, probably East Liverpool, Ohio, third quarter 19th century, finely-molded figure of a seated spaniel on base with raised acanthus leaf and floral decoration. Surface decorated with streaks of brown and blue over a yellow ground. This example is unusual in that the tail protrudes over the edge of the base. Particularly fine detail to dog's fur and base. Very nice condition with two base nicks and a small shallow base chip. 10 7/8".
