Very Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Jar, Stamped "A. COFFMAN / ROCKIGHAM VA," Andrew Coffman, Rockingham County, VA, circa 1850, salt-glazed jar with appealing slender form and flattened rim, impressed with very rare Andrew Coffman maker's mark, in which the word "Rockingham" is misspelled without the "n". Only a small number of examples are known with this particular maker's mark. Excellent form. Lines in underside, extending partway up side of jar 1" to 1 3/4". H 7 3/8".
