Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Enoch Burnett, Washington, D.C., circa 1860, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed cobalt floral featuring a central fan-shaped blossom flanked by two smaller blossoms. 1 1/2" shallow flake on top of rim and a 3/4" shallow chip to front of rim. 2 1/2" in-the-firing separation under one handle. A very tight 2 1/2" line on one side, above a very faint 3 1/2" surface line on same side, not visible on interior. Three very minor in-the-firing base chips.
