Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Midwestern origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed stem bearing open and closed tulip blossoms with heavily-brushed interiors. An unusual and visually-appealing design. Some surface lines to midsection of crock, not visible on interior. Some fry to cobalt. Minor handle chip. Chip to interior of rim.
