Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jars, American, circa 1860-1880, a stripe-decorated, Western PA example; a star-stenciled example with very light salt glaze, Ohio or Western PA origin; and a third with unusual maker's stenciling, "A. CONRAD. / NEW GENEVA, / FAYETTE CO. / PA," including original tin lid with fruit names. Stripe-decorated example with heavy chipping to rim. Star-stenciled example with two chips to interior of rim, 4 1/2" x 2" area of exfoliation to surface near base, and a 1 1/2" light area of exfoliation to shoulder. Conrad jar with small chips to shoulder molding, some fry to cobalt, traces of old green paint to surface, recessed contact marks / chips on underside, and wear to interior of rim.
