Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY CO. / PALATINE / W. VA," circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and wax sealer rim, featuring a stenciled pear surrounded by Palatine Pottery Company maker's stenciling. Freehand stripe at rim and base. 4 3/4" contact mark on side of jar. Chip and a few minor nicks on interior of rim. Additional chip and a few minor nicks to edge of inner wax sealer rim. H 10 1/4".
