Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, possibly New Jersey, first half 19th century, two-gallon ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a stylized circular flower blossom flanked by two leaves; paired with a one-gallon cylindrical jar with later salt-glazed lid, decorated with brushed cobalt daubs to shoulder. Jug with long vertical crack from spout, contact marks, a base chip, and a large in-the-firing chip to spout. Jar with rim chips, wear to interior of rim, a few small base chips, a short hairline from rim, and a short line at base. Lid with hairlines and a few chips.
