Early Glazed Redware Pitcher, Maine origin, first half 19th century, approximately one-gallon, finely-potted pitcher with ovoid body, footed base, tooled rim, and heavily-ribbed handle. Surface covered in a lead-based glaze with creamy greenish coloration over a mottled red ground. One side shows attractive, in-the-firing crawling to surface. Excellent form and color. Shallow chips and wear to rim and spout. Some wear to raised areas of handle. 1 3/4" shallow in-the-firing contact mark / chip to surface. H 10 1/2".
