Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "EDMANDS & CO.," Charlestown, MA, circa 1860, ovoid-bodied pitcher with tall collar with large rim molding, decorated with a slip-trailed leaf flanked by two clusters of grapes and scrolled vines. Majority of Albany slip missing from interior, possibly an in-the-firing flaw. Scattered light exfoliation to base, primarily on reverse. Additional light exfoliation to underside. Two pieces reglued and rim / spout, measuring a total of 3 1/2", including a thin 5 1/2" descending from reglued pieces. Handle reglued. Large flake to right of lower handle terminal. Rim chips.
