Two One-Gallon Stoneware Jugs with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a one-gallon jug with fan-shaped floral design, stamped "NICHOLS & BOYNTON / BURLINGTON, VT."; paired with a one-gallon jug with cobalt leaf and flower design, stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.". Burlington jug with large crack extending from underside, fry to cobalt, shallow chip to handle, a minor spout nick, and 1 1/2" hairline to left of spout. Fort Edward with 2" x 1 1/4" filled and colored section at base on reverse, small filled and colored spout chip, and small spout chips.
