Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, 19th century, a two-gallon cylindrical stoneware crock with cobalt foliate decoration and script "2," Western PA or Ohio origin; paired with a three-gallon ovoid churn with brushed cobalt "3". Two-gallon crock with hole drilled in underside, crack at base continuing onto underside, hairlines on reverse, 4 1/2" crack from rim on front, and hairlines and crazing to rim on reverse. Churn with chip to one handle, some small glazed-over base chips on side of churn, and some small chips on inner ledge that holds a lid.
