Very Rare Red Wing Stoneware Presentation Bank, Minnesota origin, late 19th century, Bristol-slip-glazed ovoid bank with stepped finial and distinctive Red Wing style floral and leaf designs in slip-trailed cobalt. Additional cobalt banding around shoulder. Cobalt highlights to finial and slot. Body incised with the name "P. Mansfield" underscored by an incised leaf. A highly unusual form in Red Wing stoneware. Provenance: A newly-discovered, fresh-to-the-market example, consigned from the Midwest. Excellent condition with very minor chipping to slot. H 5 1/2".
