Rare and Fine Green-Glazed Redware Handled Jar, New England origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with rounded foot, slightly-flared rim, and applied strap handle, the surface covered in a grreenish glaze accented with numerous dark green and rust-colored flecks. Hairlines on underside, continuing onto base. 1 1/4" chip on exterior of rim on reverse. Chip to front of rim and other rim wear. Tight 3" Y-shaped line from rim on front, difficult to see on exterior and easier to see on interior. Y-shaped line may include a 2" reglued section at rim. Crudely-incised number "24" or initials at shoulder. Some light wear to handle. H 8 1/4".
