Two Pieces of Calvin Boynton Stoneware, Troy, NY origin, circa 1825-1837, a one-gallon ovoid jar decorated with a large incised bird, including a ringed neck and heavily-shaded wing, the jar's reverse with distinctive fan-shaped floral motif in cobalt; paired with a one-gallon jug with identical floral motif, stamped "C. BOYNTON & CO./ TROY". The signature on the identically-decorated jug confirm the maker of the incised jar as Calvin Boynton, during his tenure in Troy, NY. Heavy chipping to rim of jar. Salt drip to shoulder of jar. In-the-making chip near base of jar. Later blue ink highlights to incising. Jug with salt drip to shoulder, X-shaped line on reverse, horizontal line at base, a few minor nicks to base, and minor wear to spout.
