Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "PAUL : CUSHMAN," Albany, NY origin, circa 1810-15, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and back with a brushed cobalt tulip. Tops of handles decorated with a brushed cobalt stripe. Rim coggled with the large maker's mark of Paul Cushman. An unusual, small-sized example of Cushman stoneware. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a few shallow, glazed-over base chips and minor rim nicks.
