Two Pieces of Glazed Redware, American, 19th century, a cylindrical jar with manganese daub decoration, Connecticut origin, circa 1840, including an Albany-slip-glazed stoneware lid; paired with a redware batter pitcher with sponged manganese decoration and original domed lid, PA or New England origin. Pitcher with crack on underside, extending 2 3/4" up base, as well as wear to rim, a chip and wear to spout, shallow base chips, and a chip and wear to handle. A few chips and small nicks to lid. Jar with wide in-the-firing crack in underside, continuing onto base, along with a few base chips, and some nicks to rim. H (of pitcher incl. lid) 8".
