Rare Ten-Gallon Stoneware Keg Cooler with Incised Floral Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, probably Somerset Potters Works, Somerset, MA, mid 19th century, ovoid form with tooled and cobalt-highlighted bands, decorated with incised and cobalt-highlighted flowering plant embellished with impressed circles. Large circular bung hole decorated with impressed and cobalt-highlighted asterisks and screw heads. Horizontal crack at midsection. 13" vertical hairline. Tight cracks in underside. Rim chips. Chips to bung hole and hairlines to bottom section of bung hole. Two shallow chips at edge on underside. 2 1/2" salt drip at shoulder on reverse. H 19".
