Very Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "MYERS & BOKEE," Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1832-1838, ovoid jar with rounded foot, tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and raised tab handles. Decorated on the front and back with a boldly-brushed abstract floral design consisting of a circle flanked by large leaves. Handles with cobalt highlights across the top and a curved stripe of cobalt underneath. Impressed with the very large, bold-faced mark, "MYERS & BOKEE," which refers to Baltimore merchants, Henry Myers and John C. Bokee. One of less than fifteen examples known bearing this mark. Fully restored base and underside. Crazing to surface. Tiny chip to one handle.
