Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Folky Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1820-1835, thin-walled, ovoid pitcher with rounded foot and tooled collar, the front decorated with a large brushed daisy plant with leafy branches extending to the left and right. Base of handle decorated with two large tulips extending around the body of the pitcher to the left and right. Collar decorated with a wavy cobalt stripe. Exceptional decoration with good color. 1 1/2" x 1" shallow base chip on reverse. Some restoration to collar. Two hairlines visible on interior of collar. Restoration to tip of spout. Restored horizontal crack in handle. Very minor 3/4" line at base. Contact mark on reverse. H 13 3/4".
