Unusual Lidded Stoneware Pitcher, NY State origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with tall, flaring collar, decorated with a large tulip extending up the front. Includes a fitting Albany-slip-glazed lid, which is shaped like a churn lid, but is not hollowed through the center. Two shallow chips on interior of spout. Two shallow chips on exterior of rim, one with a 1 3/4" hairline extending through it. Light wear to interior of rim where lid rests. Lid in excellent condition. H (including lid) 10".
