Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, possibly Beaver, PA, circa 1870, ovoid jar with flattened rim, applied lug handles, and incised wavy line around shoulder. Surface covered in a streaky slip and decorated with a large brushed cobalt tulip. Large rim chips. 6 1/4" hairline from rim on reverse. In-the-firing hairlines on underside, continuing onto base. A few other faint lines to surface, which appear to be in-the-firing. Chips to one handle.
