Two Pieces of Spongeware, American, late 19th century, an unusual scallop-rimmed pitcher, paired with a bowl, both decorated with blue sponging over an off-white ground. Pitcher with some small colored rim chips and a 2 1/2" hairline from rim. Bowl with a few short in-the-firing lines from rim, a few other minor post-firing surface lines from rim, and some surface lines on underside, a 1 1/2" in-the-firing base flake, and faint surface lines on underside. H (of pitcher) 7".
