Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with rounded foot and flared collar, decorated with a series of brushed cobalt swags and hanging flowers around the midsection, as well as swags flanking the spout, and a cobalt stripe around the rim. Restoration to rim and spout. A few tight hairlines in collar. Rim chip on reverse. Hairlines on underside, one of which extends 5 1/2" up side of pitcher. Glazed-over 2" base chip. H 13 3/4".
